MONSERRATE 

A 521 meters above Bogotá, on top of the hills, is one of the most recognized in the Colombian capital religious attractions.Founded in 1640 and remodeled in 1920, the shrine receives weekly a large number of pilgrims who ascend the hill in order to fulfill their promises or know one of the most famous places of the country.This cultural and religious appeal can be entered via the funicular station: Carrera 2E No. 21-48, or on foot. The cable car is another alternative.From Cologne is an important pilgrimage site, where you venerate the Black Madonna, since 1620, and since the sixteenth century carving of the Fallen Lord of Monserrate, since 1906.At 2,800 meters. above sea level, this legendary mountain where they go to numerous pilgrimage Colombian rises.In his sanctuary lies one of the most beautiful statues of the seventeenth century Spanish known as "The Fallen Lord of Monserrate", work was done by the artist Pedro Lugo Albarracín.On the hill is a craft market and some restaurants, where you can see a big picture of the Sabana de Bogotá.
