Itis a simple sanctuaryaa 3300 metershighonthehilltop of Guadalupe. Thefirstchapelwasbuilt in 1656; successivetremorsdestroyedfour times, thelastmovementsucceededafter 1917. Todaythereis a smallchapel and a statue of theImmaculateConception of 15 metershigh, designedbysculptor Gustavo Arcila Uribe Bogota.
Thechurch, built 1967 keepsinside a dressingroomonthehigh altar animage of Our Lady of Guadalupe carved in wood, by José de Moratilla and broughtfrom Rome.
